An automobile accident at Tilton Avenue and River Street landed one vehicle on its side and sent three passengers to the hospital with minor injuries, Red Bank police say.
Among the victims was a child who suffered a facial injury. Like the three adults who were transported to Riveview Medical Center, the child is expected to be released from the emergency room today, according to Capt. Darren McConnell, head of the traffic safety unit.
According to McConnell, an SUV that was headed southbound on Tilton ran through a stop sign at River. It was struck by another SUV headed west on River.
The struck vehicle then hit a curb and tipped over on one side, McConnell says.
The driver and her two passengers were all sent to the hospital.
The names of the drivers were not immediately available, but each was
issued a summons for driving without a license, McConnell tells redbankgreen.
The driver of the car that ran the stop sign was issued an additional summons for that infraction, McConnell says.
