A TASTE OF SPRING IN FEBRUARY

The fingers-crossed nearly snowless winter of 2012 offered a tantalizing taste of spring on the Green Wednesday, and there’s more to come.

The National Weather Service forecasts local highs of around 58 degrees Thursday – about the same as Wednesday – and 62 on Friday.

Thursday will be mostly sunny, but Friday’s warmth will likely accompany rain, mainly in the morning.

Today: Isolated showers before 7am. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 58. West wind between 8 and 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tonight: Rain, mainly after 1am. Low around 43. Light wind becoming east between 12 and 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Friday: Rain, mainly before noon. High near 62. Breezy, with a north wind 11 to 14 mph increasing to between 21 and 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 35. Breezy, with a west wind between 18 and 23 mph.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 45. Breezy, with a west wind between 17 and 24 mph.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy and breezy, with a low around 29.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 43.

Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 31.

Monday: Partly sunny, with a high near 50.

Monday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 35.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 49.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 34.
