Peter Stone performs a balancing act between theater and stand-up, when the one-guy show MEN ARE FROM MARS, WOMEN ARE FROM VENUS takes to the Basie stage on Tuesday night.
It’s been branded “the number one best selling book of the last decade” — and even if author John Gray’s Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus has since seen stiff competition from some shadier gradations of Grey, there’s no denying that the relationship counselor’s magnum opus has sparked more (non-faked) conversations than any marital aid on the market. But a theatrical presentation adapted from the book? What are they going to do, enact the whole thing with little battling finger puppets?
As it turns out, the touring stage show called Men Are From Mars – Women Are From Venus LIVE! is a “one-man fusion of theatre and stand-up” that finds actor Peter Story covering “everything from dating and marriage to the bedroom” in a series of “sexy and fast paced” vignettes that are “blended with some comedy and a dash of sage wisdom from the book.”
The show takes to the boards of the Count Basie Theatre on Tuesday night, May 27, with all tickets to the 8 pm peformance priced at $45, and available right here.
