RUMSON: OF PAWS AND CLAWS

20141115103803_00001-8989022MembersĀ of the RFH Paws and Claws Club prepare to deliver donated towels and linens to the Humane Society in Tinton Falls.

Press release from Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School

Just in time for the winter months, animals at the Associated Humane Society shelter in Tinton Falls were provided with warm bedding thanks to a recent fundraiser.

Recently, the Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School organization Paws and Claws held a towel/linen drive, during which RFH homerooms collected a total of approximately 150 clean and gently-used bedding essentials for the shelter, which had been extremely low on these supplies.

Club Officers, along with their Advisor Lauren Thieme, delivered the items to the Humane Society.

ā€œA huge thank you to the RFH Paws and Claws for the generous linen donation,ā€ said Chris Sorbo, volunteer at the shelter. ā€œYour towels, linens, and blankets will really help in the coming months of winter, as the shelter goes through so many at this time of year.ā€

ā€œWe would like to thank all of the members of the RFH community that donated items for our drive,ā€ said Alexandra Siwulec, President of Paws and Claws. ā€œThank you for helping us make a difference by providing bedding for the animals at the shelter.

In addition to President Alexandra Siwulec, Paws and Claws Club Officers are Vice President Ashley Adler, Secretary Kate Eskwitt, Co-Event Coordinators Rosie Litwin and Kristin Yorke, and Publicist Maisie Sapnar.

Paws and Claws is dedicated to assisting and spreading awareness of organizations that support domestic pets and wildlife. Upcoming events include a trip to Popcorn Park Zoo in Lacey Township to visit the Paws and Claws-sponsored animal, Kya the Blind Tiger. Also planned is a bake sale to benefit the Wildlife Club, which encompasses Popcorn Park Zoo and the Humane Society.
