FAIR HAVEN: POLICE REPORTS

Crime and arrest reports, unedited, as provided by the Fair Haven Police Department for the month of January, 2016.

• 1/1/16- Patrol was dispatched to a Hance Road address for reported property damage. Ptl. William Lagrotteria took the report.

• 1/1/16- Patrol was dispatched to a Fair Haven business for vehicle damage by valet staff. Ptl. Eric Patton took the report.

• 1/1/16- Eric K. Damico, 20, Rumson was placed under arrest subsequent to a motor vehicle stop for possession of marijuana under 50 grams, drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of a knife and underage possession of alcohol. Subject was transported to Hdqs were he was processed and released pending a Fair Haven Court appearance. Ptl. Brooks Robinson was the arresting Officer.

• 1/3/16- Patrol was dispatched to a Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses for a report of vandalism in the parking lot. Ptl. Dwayne Reevey took the report.

• 1/3/16- Patrol was dispatched to a Locust St. address for vandalism to a vehicle.

• 1/3/16- Patrol was dispatched to the intersection of Smith Street and Forman Street for a report of vandalism in the street.

• 1/12/16-William Hoffman, 31, Fair Haven was placed under arrest subsequent a motor vehicle stop for possession of less than 50 g Marijuana , possession of drug paraphernalia and hindering apprehension (destroying evidence). Subject was processed and released pending a Fair Haven Court appearance. Ptl. Brooks Robinson was the arresting Officer.

• 1/16/16- Matthew Bavuso, 18, Rumson was placed under arrest for possession of drug paraphernalia following an investigation of a suspicious vehicle. The subject during processing was also found in possession of Hashish. Subject was released pending a Fair Haven court appearance. Ptl. Brooks Robinson was the arresting Officer. [UPDATE, December 10, 2017: The case against Bavuso was dismissed by the Rumson Municipal Court on April 13, 2017.]

• 1/17/2016-Nicholas Castellano, 21, Rumson was placed under arrest for D.W.I. following a motor vehicle stop for speeding. Mr. Catellano was also issued summons for refusal to submit to breath samples, Reckless driving and speeding. Subject was later released pending a Fair Haven court appearance.

• 1/28/16-Tommy Earls, 54, Neptune was charged with receiving stolen property in reference to a 2013 Burglary at 516 Ridge Road. Subject is currently committed at the Monmouth County Correctional facility. Bail was set at $25,000.00 no 10% option by Fair Haven court. Det. Stephen Schneider was the investigating Officer.

• 1/30/16- Gregory Meletta, 37, Newport, Rhode Island was arrested following a motor vehicle stop for possession of under 50 g Marijuana. Subject was processed and released pending a Fair Haven court appearance. Ptl. Brooks Robinson was the arresting Officer.

Vandalism arrest

Between the dates of January 3rd and the 15th patrols took six reports of graffiti vandalism to separate locations throughout the Borough. Victims of the vandalism included the Two Rivers Water Reclamation Authority, Raven and the Peach, Red Bank Recycling, Verizon, Fair Haven Borough and TRWRA Substation. On January 15th after a investigation by Det. Stephen Schneider, Joseph D. Horner, 21, Fair Haven was charged in connection with the vandalism case. Horner received six counts of criminal mischief by Det. Stephen Schneider. Summons issued pending a Fair Haven Court appearance.
