Two apartment projects — one next to the train station and the other in the heart of downtown — are scheduled to be heard by Red Bank land use regulators this week.
The first, by Denholtz Associates, would create a 45-unit mixed-use building with a parking garage extending from the taxi dispatch office on Oakland Street the office building shown above, on Chestnut Street.

On Thursday, representatives of the Morgan family, owners of a number of downtown buildings, are scheduled to go before the zoning board to detail a proposal for five apartments in the two upper floors of 6-8 Monmouth Street, the century-old structure at the northwest corner of Broad Street, seen above. The plan requires a variance for a change of use from office to residential.
Meantime, a plan to build a Hampton Inn hotel on the vacant site of a former Exxon Station at the foot of the Route 35 bridge was to have been heard by the planning board, but has been rescheduled for November 21.
