The event was born of last year’s centennial event and picnic at Count Basie Fields.
What: Second annual Red Bank Day, four hours of food, music and neighborliness, followed Sunday by tours of historic homes in the borough.
Where: Count Basie Field, entrance at Henry Street and Mohawk Lane.
When: 11a to 3p Saturday.
Need to know: A byproduct of last year’s Red Bank’s Centennial celebration, this now-annual shindig will again feature live performances by the up-and-coming musicians of the Red Bank Middle School, free food courtesy of SuperFoodtown, and an incomparable opportunity for residents to mingle at an event that is by, for and about Red Bankers.
On Sunday, Councilman Ed Zipprich and Historic Preservation Commission Chairman George Bowden will host a tour of historic homes in town.
Participants will ride in a horsedrawn carriage that leaves from the Galleria Red Bank on Bridge Avenue at 1p and the tour will last until approximately 4 pm.
Those wishing to participate should be at the Galleria at 1p.
