CRASH VICTIM WAS LITTLE SILVER MAN

Fatalcrash4An investigator photographs an overturned car involved in Wednesday night's fatal crash.

A Little Silver man died in last night's three-car crash on Newman Springs Road, according to a report by the Asbury Park Press.

Fifty-six-year-old Vincent Dimicelli was pronounced dead on the scene of the accident, which occurred at 6:10p, the Press reports, citing Tinton Falls Police Capt. David Trevena.

The accident occurred after an unidentified 17-year-old Holmdel boy lost control of his eastbound car as he passed the Hance Avenue intersection and veered into oncoming traffic, according the to report.

From the Press:

Police said the cause of the crash remains under investigation, and no
summonses were issued Wednesday, but a preliminary investigation
indicates speed appears to have been a factor.

Around 6:10 p.m. the 17-year-old – whose name was not released – was
driving a 2006 Chrysler 300 eastbound on Newman Springs Road when he
lost control of the car and struck a small curb that divides the two
sides of the road near Hance Avenue, police said.

The Chrysler crossed into the westbound lanes, where it collided with a
1997 Toyota Avalon driven by Dimicelli and a 2006 Honda, driven by Amy
Honig, 37, of the Lincroft section of Middletown, said Trevena. Then the Chrysler overturned and slid back into the eastbound lane, he said.

Honig was taken to Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank and the boy was
taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.

Anyone who witnessed the accident or has any information about it is
asked to call traffic safety Sgt. David Scrivanic at (732) 542-3400,
Ext. 291.

The teen's car came to a stop 75 to 100 yards east of the impact. A witness to the end of the accident told redbankgreen he saw the car slide the final 25 yards or so on its roof.

A passenger in the boy's car was unhurt.
