Iconic stage and screen great Al Pacino takes the stage in a June 1 benefit for the Count Basie Theatre, with tickets on sale now.
He’s taken the big screen by storm (adding a handful of timeless phrases to the pop lexicon in the process) in The Godfather saga, Scarface and Dog Day Afternoon — and his Bronx-bred rasp (in Merchant of Venice and Richard III) proved that Shakespeare’s still shaking up the here and now.
On the evening of Wednesday, June 1, Al Pacino comes to Red Bank, for an exclusive area appearance on the stage of the Count Basie Theatre.
Billed as “a creative process interview with NYU film professor, Richard Brown,” the Inside the Actors Studio-style event (similar to recent local fundraisers featuring Alec Baldwin and Stephen Colbert) will include a Q&A with the audience, and will benefit the ongoing Restoration Fund efforts at the Monmouth Street landmark.
The Triple Crown winner (Oscar, Tony, Emmy) is expected to “share his passion for acting and directing with film clips, including some never before seen footage,” and to “reveal the inner workings of his most personal work.”
Tickets for Al Pacino: One Night Only are priced from $75 to $350 (with a $500 VIP option that includes a meeting and photo op with the star), and can be reserved right here.
