A planned multi-unit housing plan that brought Little Silver neighbors out in objection four years ago is back in the works, with a minor tweak.
The borough planning office is reviewing the previously approved plan, called Carriage Park at Little Silver, for completeness.
The plan, delivered to borough hall by Eastview Avenue Associates, has been resubmitted, because it’s dropping an age restriction, to the borough planning office after gaining approval in 2007.
The applicant and owner of the 14.2 acre property, Javin Partnership, based in Adelphia, declined to comment for this story.
If approved, developers would be allowed to erect four buildings comprising 39 units on the property off Oceanport Avenue, near the train station. The plan calls for 32 three-bedroom units, seven two-bedrooms and 94 parking spaces.
Because the plan is still under review by the planning department, no date has been scheduled for a hearing before the planning board, director Diane Ramsey said.
Originally submitted as a 55-and-older project, developers have now dropped the age restriction, requiring them to resubmit the plans.
When it was first brought to the table, residents in the area fought the proposal, saying it was too large and too dense for the neighborhood.
In the planning board’s resolution of approval in 2007, it notes, “numerous objectors appeared at the hearings and voiced concerns regarding the project density and size.”
However, the board deemed it within the borough’s standards.
