Can’t you just taste it?
Art lovers and foodies will be able to indulge their senses of sight, smell and taste this Saturday afternoon, as the non-denominational Red Bank Community Church hosts its semiannual art show, a combination of the visual and victual arts.
The event, dubbed ‘Taste and See,’ brings together works by leading regional artists in diverse media along with samples of culinary art from local chefs — enabling attendees to enjoy an afternoon that will delight the eye, the palate and the mind, says a press release about the show.
Rumson singer/songwriter Carly McIlvaine will entertain.
Pastor Lenny Liebmann says the exhibit’s theme was inspired by a verse from Psalm 34: “Taste and see that the Lord is good.”
“Echoes of the divine can be found wherever humankind is able to create or perceive beauty,” he says. “By bringing multiple types of creative, perceivable beauty together in one place at one time, the church is inviting the community to share in God’s blessings — which we believe are granted to us by His grace, rather than by our personal merit.”
