Press release from Sickles Market
As sure a signifier of fall as colorful gourds and plump pumpkins, the annual Artists Weekend at Sickles Market brings together a group of the community’s most creative neighbors in an unusual but artist-friendly environment: the tropical greenhouse at the Little Silver landmark. Scheduled for the hours of 11 am to 3 pm on Saturday, September 20 and Sunday, September 21, the highly anticipated event welcomes the return of past participants — and invites locally based artists in a variety of media to take part for the first time.
From now through Sunday, August 24, artists are urged to apply for a spot at the stroll-through greenhouse “gallery” space. The up-close format of the event offers artists an opportunity to show the public all that’s involved in creating your art work. Artists are asked to come prepared to display, sell, and demonstrate a piece of work in progress during the event.
Artists who would like to be considered for participation should submit a short biography along with three photos of their artwork, by no later than 4 pm on August 24. Artist bios and photos can be dropped off to the Sickles Market Reception Office, emailed to [email protected], or mailed to:

A confirmation email will be sent to all accepted artists by Tuesday, September 2, 2014 — and a registration fee of $30 will be collected in advance, to confirm the space reserved for each participant. Artists’ names will be included in advertising (print and social media), and all artists will be provided a Sickles Market Deluxe Lunch on that day.
